• Edward D. Schroeder, 69, of Goessel died at Bethesda Hospital in Goessel Monday morning after a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 18, 1897, in McPherson County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob J. Schroeder. On Oct. 15, 1922, he married Susie Reimer and they lived on a farm north of Goessel until moving to Goessel in 1955. Survivors include his wife; three sons: Raymond, Moundridge, Norman, Canton, and Vernon, Akron, Pa.; seven grandchildren; one foster grandchild, one brother and four sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, with Rev. Kenneth Quenzer officiating. The family suggests that contributions be given to the Bethesda Development Fund.
