PIONEER OF HILLSBORO COMMUNITY DIED MONDAY AT AGE 86
Hillsboro, Kans. — Andrew Schroeder, who came to this community from Russia with his parents in 1875 at the age of eight, died at the Salem hospital here Monday afternoon, Aug. 2. He had suffered a fractured hip nine weeks ago; immediate cause of death was pneumonia.
Funeral services were to be held Thursday forenoon at the First Mennonite church of Hillsboro, of which he was a member.
Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. L. F. Bartel of Newton and Mrs. Harrison Unruh, now living at Frederick, Pa.; four sons, Dan of Colby, Pete of Hillsboro, Art of Wichita and Paul of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Pete Schroeder and brother Geo. Schroeder, both of Hillsboro; and 25 grandchildren.
