SERENUS V. SCHROCK

Serenus V. Schrock was born at Middlebury, Ind. on Feb. 12, 1901, the son of Daniel and Ida Aeschliman Schrock. he departed this life following a brief illness of April 13, 1971, at the age of 71 years, two months, and one day.

He and Melinda Ropp were united in marriage on June 12, 1924. This union was broken by her death March 16, 1959. five daughters and one son came to bless this union.

On Jan. 23, 1960 the marriage of Serenus and Mabel Mast was solemnized, and death claimed this partner on Nov. 11, 1964.

July 29, 1968 marked the date of his marriage to Mrs. Dora Nafziger, who remains in sorrow at his passing. Others left to mourn his departure are his children, Gladys (Mrs. Wayne Nofziger), Ilva (Mrs. Maurice Stuckey), Verda (Mrs. Donald Rupp), and Annabelle (Mrs. Leroy Rupp), all of Wauseon, Ohio, Mary Lou of Chicago, Ill., and one son Donald of Archbold, Ohio; also two step-sons, Maurice D. Nafziger of Fayette, Ohio and Paul Ray Nafziger of Archbold; two step-daughters, Anna Rose (Mrs. Peter Kieson) and Ada Nafziger of Wauseon; 28 grandchildren and five great-gr and children. Two grandchildren preceded him in death Brothers and sisters left behind are Cletus of Wauseon, Ohio, Leona (Mrs. Henry Shetler) and Mabel (Mrs. Harvey Swartzendruber), both of Pigeon, Mich., Priscilla and Elmer of Archbold, Waldo of Fayette, and Glen of Mendota, Ill.

In his youth Serenus accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Mennonite Church. At the time of his passing he was a faithful member of the Pine Grove congregation of Stryker, Ohio.

Serenus was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather who lived his Christian testimony. He will be greatly missed by his family and by his church.

Often times his testimony was given by way of singing, which was a great joy of his life. Long to be remembered will be the unselfish and sacrificial love that he extended to all who knew him and now sorrow at his passing.

Funeral services were held April 17 at 10 a.m, in the Central Mennonite Church near Archbold, Ohio. Rev. D. Wyse Graber, Roy Sauder and Dale Wyse officiated. Interment was made in the Pettisville Cemetery.
