LEROY SCHROCK

Leroy Schrock was born at Yoder, Kan., Oct 11, 1917, and died April 6, 2000, at his home at the age of 82.

He was the oldest son of Sam E. and Katie (Miller) Schrock. He accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age and was baptized as a member of the Yoder Mennonite Church.

While attending Hesston College, he met Esther Weaver, whom he married March 23, 1941. Two weeks before his death they celebrated 59 years of happy marriage.

They moved to Wisconsin in May 1946 at the request of the North Central Conference (MC), and he became pastor of South Lawrence Mennonite Church, which was organized that fall. He was pastor of South Lawrence for 32 years and milked cows for a living. His delight was in the law of the Lord, whom he served with love and dedication.

He is survived by his wife, Esther; four children, Elwood Glen and his wife Lorene Stichter of Exeland, Wis., Arland Eugene and his wife Esther Estep of Baker, W. Va., Betty Ann and her husband Larry Wilkins of Mount Crawford, Va., and Rita Marie and her husband Alvin Stoll of Glen Flora, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; four brothers, Allen and Eugene of Kansas and Earl and Herman of Harrisonburg, Va.; and a sister, Doris Yoder of Michigan.

He was preceded in death a sister, Susie Ellen.

The funeral was held at South Lawrence Mennonite Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
