ERMA KING SCHROCK
Erma King Schrock, daughter of Elmer and Sarah Blank King, was born May 5, 1909 near Garden City, Mo., and passed to her eternal reward at home in Harrisonville, Mo. on July 12, 1966 after an extended illness. She was the sixth child in a family of nine.
In her early teens she was baptized into the Mennonite faith and became a member of the Sycamore Grove Church. She remained a faithful member throughout her life.
On April 16, 1933 she was united in marriage to Albert R. Schrock on Garden City, Mo. They lovingly opened their home and their hearts to two boys whom they adopted. Lyle Kent came to bless this home in November 1944 at the age of six weeks. Two and one-half years later, Phillip Ray, at the age of one week, joined them to make this home complete.
Erma made their home one of hospitality to all who came and was greatly loved by children and youth. she possessed a keen wit and a ready smile, and retained her radiant smile until the end.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents and the following sisters and brothers: Nona, 1922; Vernon, 1926; Herman, April 1966; and Elsie, May 1966.
Survivors are her husband; two sons; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Archie King of West Liberty, Ohio, Miss Nellie King of Harrisonville, Mo., Mrs. Glen King of Scottdale, Pa., and Mrs. Ralph Stutzman of Garden City, Mo.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
