Sterling, Ohio Native Dies at Age 85

Sterling, Ohio. — Mrs. David Schrock, Sr., 85, died at her home here Feb. 24 after an illness of three and one-half years following a hip fracture.

One of a family of 12 children of Jacob G. Meyer, she resided in this area all her life except for two years at Fairview, Mich. after her marriage to Mr. Schrock in 1908.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Dayton Steiner of Orrville and Mrs. Ralph Mumaw of Smithville; a son, David, Jr. of Sterling; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Noah Schrock of Smithville; three brothers, Dr. J. C. Meyer of Goshen, Ind., Elmer Meyer of Rittman, and E. A. Meyer of Ardsley-on-Hudson, N. Y.

She was a member of the Smithville Mennonite Church, where services were held Feb. 27 in charge of David Eshleman and Wm. Detweiler. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Relatives from Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York and a number of Ohio communities attended.
