AGED BISHOP CALLED BY DEATH AT METAMORA, ILL.

Metamora, Ill. — Funeral services were held at the Metamora Mennonite church on Sunday, April 10, for the venerable Bishop Andrew A. Schrock, who served as bishop and minister of the congregation for many years.

Born in France in 1863, he came to this country as a child. He was ordained to the ministry in 1894, and to the office of bishop in 1898. He served a number of times as moderator or assistant moderator of the Western District Amish Mennonite Conference, and in 1920 was a member of the merger committee of the Mennonite and Amish Mennonite conference.
