ELIZABETH WALTNER SCHRAG

Elizabeth Waltner Schrag, daughter of Andrew and Katherine (Stucky) Waltner, was born Oct. 4, 1879 near Moundridge, Kansas and passed away at the Mercy Hospital on April 13, 1962.

She was baptized upon confession of faith in Christ as Savior on April 14, 1895 and became a member of the Eden Mennonite Church.

She was united in marriage with John E. Schrag on Feb. 10, 1904 and with this marriage accepted the responsibilities of motherhood for two children.

To this union were born four daughters and five sons. Two sons, one daughter and one grandson preceded her in death.

Mother will be remembered as a quiet person who was devoted to her family and friends. Her life will long be an inspiration to us. Through her final suffering she showed a patient and serene spirit that revealed her faith in God.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her husband, John E. Schrag, four daughters, Ida, Frieda and Alice of the home, and Esther (Mrs. Peter J. P. Schrag) of McPherson; four sons, Martin C. of Moundridge, Walter M. of Galva and Dan H. and Paul J. of Moundridge; five daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, 33 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Katie Waltner of Moundridge.
