Edw. J. Schrag

Edward J. Schrag, son of Dr. and Mrs. J. R. Schrag, was born Oct. 9, 1875. The family moved to Eugene, Oregon, and in 1899 came to the Menno district in Washington. As a boy he was baptized upon his confession of faith and united with the church. April 4, 1907 he was unied [sic] in marriage with Emma Gering. The Lord blessed this union with four sons and one daughter. In 1917 he moved with his family to Soap Lake, Wash. where he assisted his brothers in their work. After a long and painful suffering he was permitted to go home, Dec. 5, 1935. A funeral service was conducted in the community church at Soap Lake, the Rev. Scutter officiating. The body was then brought to the menno Mennonite church, Sunday Dec. 8, the Brethren Scutter and M. J. Galle officiating. Interment in the Menno Mennonite cemetery. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, four sons, one daughter, two brothers, two sisters. Age 60 years, 1 month an 27 days.
