● Former Herald Publishing Co. employee Amanda Schrag, 79, of rural Cheney, died Nov. 11 at her son's home in Pretty Prairie. She had worked at the company in the 1930s. She was a sister-in-law of Menno Schrag, editor emeritus of Mennonite Weekly Review. Funeral services were held Nov. 13 at First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, with Richard Tschetter officiating. She is survived by her husband, Sam; one son, Stanley of Pretty Prairie; thee brothers, Gus Pankratz and Theodore Pankratz, both of Newton, and Peter of Goddard; three sisters, Linda Pankratz of Newton, Eva (Mrs. Fred) Unruh of Hutchinson and Mary Ann (Mrs. Richard Blosser of North Newton; and two grandchildren.
