MRS. LYDIA SCHNEBELE
Lydia Barbara Schnebele, daughter of John and Katherine (Faith) Neff, was born Feb. 19, 1875, near Donnellson, Iowa. She received her schooling, both in English and German, in nearby country schools. She joined the Zion Mennonite Church on Sept. 25, 1887, being baptized by Rev. Christian Showalter.
On Feb. 19, 1912 she was united in marriage with Valentine Schnebele, joining his church and community at Dear [sic Deer] Creek, Okla. To this union was born one daughter, Rosalie Katherine.
Mrs. Schnebele with her husband and family made her home on a farm south of Deer Creek until 1943 when she and Mr. Schnebele moved into the town of Deer Creek. her husband precede her in death March 1, 1955.
Mrs. Schnebele died in a rest home at Enid, on Aug. 30, 1962, following a period of failing health. She had been a resident of the rest home for the past two years. She reached the age of 87 years, six months, and 11 days.
She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie and Dick Webster; four brothers, Fred Neff of Donnellson, Iowa, Jacob W. Neff of Chanute, Kansas, Joseph J. Neff of Wellington, Kansas, and Edward J. Neff of Lakin, Kansas; two grandchildren, Roger V. Webster of Deer Creek and Jacqueline J. Palmer of Chandler, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, William E. and Kathleen D. Palmer.
