She was born March 6, 1914, to Abraham L. and Maria (Schroeder) Boese in Goessel. She married Simon W. Schmidt Aug. 21, 1934, in Goessel. He preceded her in death Nov. 27, 1991. She was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.

Survivors include: three sons, LaVerne Schmidt of Newton, Abram Schmidt of Moundridge and Eldon S. Schmidt of Newton; two daughters, Arlene Klassen of Hesston and JoAnn Nickel of rural Newton; two brothers, Alvin Boese of Lehigh and Ralph Boese of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Elsie Schmidt of rural Peabody and Rosella Duerksen of Tuscon, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Wednesday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel with the Rev. James Dunn officiating.

GOESSEL -- Linda Schmidt, 86, homemaker and co-owner of Schmidt Studio, died (Nov. 27, 2000) in Goessel. She was born March 6, 1914, to Abraham L. and Maria (Schroeder) Boese in Goessel. She married Simon W. Schmidt Aug. 21, 1934, in Goessel. He preceded her in death Nov. 27, 1991. She was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.
