— Mrs. Pauline (Matz) Schmidt passed away here Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Ewert. Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the First Mennonite church. Mrs. Schmidt was 95 years of age, having been born in Poland in 1853. She had lived with her daughter here for the past two years. Survivors, in addition to Mrs. Ewert, include another daughter, Mrs. Ed. Wiens of Newton; four sons, Emil of Independence, Mo., Louis of Liberty, Mo., and John and Ruben of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Albert Matz of Hillsboro and Reighnold Matz of Los Angeles; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Hamm of Fresno, Calif.
