Jacob B. Schmidt. 88, died Aug. 22 in Memorial McPherson Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 10 a.m. in the Olson Funeral Home. Canton. The minister of the Galva Methodist Church officiated.
Mr. Schmidt farmed in the Lehigh and Canton area. He was a member of the Lehigh Mennonite Church. He married Margert Goertz in 1912, and she died in 1972. He is survived by four sons, Oliver of the home, Oswald of Canton, Harold of Canton, and Maxwell of Denver; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Rosamund) Hart of Imperial, Texas, Mrs. Robert (Theresa) Bishop of Canton, Mrs. Beatrice Johnson of Denver; three brothers, Henry B. of Hugoton, A. Burton of Cheney, and Edward of Canton; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Hackler and Mrs. Marie Loewen, both of Canton, Mr. and Mrs. Peter S. Buller of Goessel, Alvin Buller of Lehigh and Dan Thiesen attended the funeral.
