Harold Schmidt

Harold Schmidt, son of Benjamin and Anna Schmidt, was born December 11, 1926, at Hillsboro, Kansas. He died March 31, 1940, at 11:45 a.m. in the Salem Hospital after an illness of nine days of intense suffering and pain, caused by a blood infection, at the age of 13 years, 3 months and 20 days.

Our beloved son had a desire for knowledge and study, and would have completed the seventh grade at the end of this school term. He was dearly loved and esteemed by all who came in contact with him, both by young and old; especially was this true in school by his school companions.

It was a great joy to hm to attend Sunday school and services every Sunday. His favorite verse in God's Holy Word was "The Lord is my Shepherd," and we have the assurance that he is resting in the arms of that great loving shepherd, Jesus, his Savior.

At home in Heaven! with streets of gold,
With all the beauty to behold —
A mansion there for you and me,
A happy home we all may see.
No more sickness, sorrow or care
Will rob us of our loved ones there.

He leaves to mourn, his beloved parents; one brother Richard; three half-brothers, Cornelius and Herman of Hillsboro, and Ben C. of San Francisco, California; two half-sisters, Marie at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton, Kansas; Emelia Heppner of Merced, California. — The bereaved family, Mr. and Mrs. Benj. Schmidt and children.
