text of obituary:

MRS. ANNA (BOESE) SCHMIDT

Mrs. Anna (Boese) Schmidt was born at Klefeld, Russia on Feb. 1, 1870, the daughter of Abraham and Maria (Unruh) Boese. She came to America with her parents in 1874 and they settled in the Alexanderwohl community at Goessel, Kan.

She was baptized upon the confession of her faith at the age of 17, by the Elder Jacob Buller, transferring her membership to the Tabor Church to become a charter member when it was organized in 1908, where she remained a faithful member until her death.

On Nov. 6, 1890, she was united in marriage to Henry S. Schmidt. This union was blessed with one daughter, Susanna, who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1957. They spent all of their married life on the farm located near the Tabor church. They were planning to spend their golden years in a new home in Goessel, when on Nov. 20, 1928 her husband passed away before their home was completed. She moved into the new home in January of 1929. This was her home until she entered the Bethesda Home on Oct. 13, 1952. She enjoyed her health until she suffered a light stroke on March 9, 1960. Just before this illness she enjoyed her 90th birthday very much as one of her granddaughters had open house for her.

Her survivors include her son-in-law, P. J. Voth; 11 grandchildren, Mrs. Art (Amanda) Voth, Mrs. Sam (Myrtle) Mohn, Orlando and his wife Virginia, Melvin and his wife Geraldine, Mrs. Victor (Ruby) Funk, Mrs. Bill (Lillian) Brady, Mrs. Carl (Maxine) Bolte, Leon and his wife Loretta, Clayton and his wife Louise, Raymond, and Bertrand and his wife Velma; 28 great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Henry Loewen, and two brothers-in-law, C. J. Schmidt and Henry R. Schroeder.
