ADOLPH R. SCHMIDT

Adolph R. Schmidt, son of A. B. P. and Eva Schmidt, was born Jan. 28, 1903 at Cordell, Okla. and passed away to be with the Lord July 25, 1966, reaching the age of 63 years, five months and 28 days.

From his early youth he attended the Bessie Mennonite Brethren Church. It was here that he learned to know the Lord Jesus as his Saviour. He was baptized and received into the church membership on July 14, 1918. He faithfully fulfilled his many responsibilities in the church and community.

On Oct. 14, 1923 he was united in holy matrimony to Freda Krewall. To this union of 42 years and nine months were born five sons. He spent his entire life in the community of Cordell where he was engaged in farming. Nine years ago we moved to our present home in Cordell, however, still continuing to work on the farm. He was in good health until about nine [number partially illegible in print copy] years ago.

Father was a faithful husband and father. He greatly enjoyed having the entire family together. He worked hard and enjoyed his work on the farm. Even with his physical limitations, when encouraged not to work so hard, he said he would rather be on the farm working when his heavenly call would come, than to be at ease at home. This desire was fulfilled.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Freda; five sons and families, Alfred of Cordell, Okla., Edwin of Atwater, Calif., Karl, in military service in Chicago, A. B. P. of Corn, Okla., Manifred of Cordell, Okla.; three brothers and four sisters, R. A. Schmidt of Bessie, Okla., P. A. Schmidt of Weatherford, Okla., A. A. Schmidt of Corn, Okla., Marie Nickel of Clinton, Okla., Olga, Mrs. Dan Fink of Reedley, Calif., Selma, Mrs. John Martin of Corn, Okla., Annie, Mrs. Pete Schmidt of Clinton, Ark.; [number illegible in print copy] grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death. — The Family.
