A native of Russia, he came to this area as a young man with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schlichting. After farming for some years, he followed in his father's footsteps by taking up bone setting. Fracture victims from this area and other states sought his services.

PIONEER SETTLER AND LONG-TIME BONE SETTER DIES AT CORN, OKLA.

Corn, Okla. — F. “Doc” Schlichting, pioneer settler here who became well known as a bone setter, died at the Corn Home for Aged on June 4.

A native of Russia, he came to this area as a young man with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schlichting. After farming for some years, he followed in his father's footsteps by taking up bone setting. Fracture victims from this area and other states sought his services.

Mrs. Schlichting died here in December 1961.
