Illinois Retired Farmer Found Dead in Home

Metamora, Ill.. — Funeral services for Louis C. Schertz, 86, a retired farmer and lifelong resident of this area, were held Sunday, Aug. 22, at the Roanoke Mennonite Church.

Mr. Schertz was found dead in his farm home near Roanoke on Aug. 19. He had lived in the home, located near the intersections of Routes 116 and 117, since 1907. His wife died in 1936.

Surviving are one daughter, two sons, and four grandchildren.
