Metamora, Ill. Retired Farmer Dies

Metamora, Ill. — Edwin R. Schertz, 78, well-known retired farmer here, died at Methodist hospital in Peoria on Aug. 11.

Funeral services were arranged for Friday, Aug. 14, at the Metamora Mennonite church, of which he was a long-time member. A lifelong resident of this area, he had lived in Metamora for the past 10 years.

Survivors include his wife, the former Emma Schertz; five daughters, Mrs. Erma Martin of Elkhart, Ind., Mrs. Luella Smith of Hesston, Kan., Mrs. Elverda Garber of Metamora, Mrs. Gladys Burkholder of Edgewood Hills, East Peoria, and Mrs. Marilynn Suter [Sutter?] of Metamora; one son, Gene, of Metamora; three sisters and one brother.
