FORMER EUREKA. ILL. RESIDENT CALLED BY DEATH IN INDIANA

Goshen, Ind. — Funeral service for Benjamin J. Schertz, 71, well known Goshen resident, were held in the College Union auditorium Thursday, July 24, with John H. Mosemann, Sanford C. Yoder and C. L. Graber officiating. He farmed at Eureka, Ill. before moving to Goshen a number of years ago.

Mr. Schertz had been in ill health for some time and passed away at Goshen hospital the evening of July 21, after being admitted as a patient earlier the same day. He formerly served on the Goshen College board and was active in the College congregation.

Survivors include his wife, the former Emma Smith, a brother L: C. Schertz of Roanoke, Ill. and nephews and nieces.
