Schenbeck. — Jacob Schenbeck died 4 P. M., January 25, at his home, 417 Willard avenue, Bloomington, Ill. Dissolution was due to a complication of diseases.

He was the son of the late John and Catherine Schenbeck and was born in Holmes county, Ohio, on June 16, 1845. In his youth he came with his parents to Adams county, Indiana, where he grew to manhood. He united in marriage with Magdaline Egly, on August 11, 1872, who died on March 16, 1883. He united in marriage the second time with Anna Schindler, who died October 20, 1918.

In youth he united with the Mennonite church and on December 29, 1882 he was ordained a deacon in the Defenseless Mennonite church, in Adams county, Ind., where he served in this capacity until 1916, when he moved with his family to Pontiac, Ill., and three years ago to Bloomington where he has since resided.

The following children survive: Mrs. William Rocke, Miss Lydia, Mrs. Jessie Egly, and Edwin, all of Bloomington; Rufus, of Swanton, O., Noah of Flat Rock, Ill., and one sister, Mrs. Anna Souder, of Grabill, Ind. Three children preceded him in death. There are also ten grandchildren surviving.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. H. Grubb, pastor of First Mennonite church, on January 27, and interment made in Waldo cemetery at Gridley, Ill.
