Builder of Churches Dies in Manitoba

Steinbach, Man. — Funeral services for David J. Schellenberg, 67, well-known contractor and builder of a number of area churches, were held at the Steinbach Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church on Feb. 21. Rev. S. H. Epp, the pastor officiated.

Mr. Schellnberg died at Bethesda Hospital here Feb. 18 after a two-year illness.

He was the builder of the present Steinbach E.M.B. Church, the Steinbach Mennonite Church, the addition to the Mennonite Brethren Church, the addition to the old hospital here, as well as dozens of homes.

A member of the Bethesda Hospital Society board for several years, he served as building inspector for the board during construction of the new hospital.

Survivors include his wife, six children and 16 grandchildren.
