Jacob Schellenberg was born on January 2, 1885, in Kronsgard, Russia and came to Herbert, Saskatchewan in 1903. On July 5, 1911, he was united in marriage to Mary Schultz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Schultz. Six sons and six daughters were born to this union. The youngest, a daughter, passed away in infancy on June 17, 1937.
A deepening spiritual life was experienced by the family when they moved to the Waldheim and Hepburn area in Saskatchewan, where they were baptized and became members of the Hepburn MB Church. Mrs. Schellenberg passed away on August 11, 1937, and not long thereafter Mr. Schellenberg married Mrs. Sarah Janzen and moved to British Columbia.
