AGED MOUNTAIN LAKE RESIDENT DIES OF ACCIDENT INJURIES
Mt. Lake, Minn. — Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite church north of Butterfield Sept. 9 for John Sawatzky, 78-year-old resident here who was fatally injured in a highway accident near St. Joseph, Mo. on Friday. Sept. 4.
Mrs. Sawatzky, 78, suffered critical injuries, including a number of fractures and possible internal injuries.
The aged couple was en route to Kansas City hospital to take their son, Rev. Leslie Sawatzky, to his home at Holden, Kansas. It was reported that their car went off the edge of the pavement and then swerved back into the path of a truck.
