MRS. PETER SALTZMAN
Elizabeth Reeb, daughter of Adam and Anna Zoss Reeb, was born near Metamora, Ill. June 18, 1889, departed from this life on July 27, 1959 at the York Hospital, at the age of 70 years, one month and nine days, after a lingering illness.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Reformed Church in Washburn, Ill. In 1906 she with her parents moved near Martland, Neb., where she became a member of the Mennonite Church, remaining faithful unto death.
On Dec. 23, 1909, she was united in marriage to Peter Saltzman of Shickley. This union was blessed with three daughters and three sons.
They lived their entire married life on farms in the Shickley community until about six years ago when they purchased their home in the town of Shickley, where she lived until the time of her death.
She leaves to mourn, her life companion and six children, Esther, Mrs. Ralph Yoder of Shickley, Albert, Beulah, Mrs. Stanley Roth and Orville, all of Milford, Verna at home and LeVoy of Shickley; 17 grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Reeb of Ronoake [sic Roanoke], Ill., and Fred Reeb of Geneva; a sister, Anna, Mrs. Peter Kennel of Shickley, and a number of other relatives and friends.
Her mother and father and four grandchildren, preceded her in death.
She was a kind and loving mother. She loved her church and always attended when health permitted.
Funeral services were conducted July 29, 1959, at the Salem Mennonite church with Rev. Jacob Birkey and Deacon Lee Schlegel in charge, assisted by Ministers Ammon Miller and Oliver Roth of Milford. Burial was in the church cemetery.
