He is survived by his wife, Ella Ebersole Ryan, to whom he was married on July 8, 1947. His first companion, Daisy Reinhart Ryan, preceded him in death on March 18, 1916. To the first union was born one son, Robert, of West Hollywood, Fla., who survives with his wife and daughter, Bobba Jane.

Early in life he took up residence in Cleveland, Ashland and [line repeated in original] Wooster, Ohio area, spending the larger portion of his life in and hear Wooster. He was employed for many years as a floor man and private detective for the Brenner Bros. Clothing Store, where he served with efficiency and the ability to spot and apprehend shoplifters with a keen eye.

At the age of 75, he retired and lived his remaining three happy years in Sarasota.

He became a member of the Mennonite Church a number of years ago, establishing his final membership at the Bayshore Mennonite Church where he was a faithful member until his passing. his was a consistent Christian life and he was a gentleman to the end. We will miss his dry humor and sly wit, and our hearts' desire is to join him in the realms' of glory to be with the Lord.
