— Funeral services for Miss Selma Rupp, 56, lifelong resident of the Moundridge community, were held Wednesday afternoon at the West Zion Mennonite Church, Rev. Harris Waltner in charge. Miss Rupp died Sunday evening at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge. She is survived by her father, C. M. Rupp of the home; three sisters, Mrs. A. E. Dyck and Mrs. John Hirschler of Moundridge, Mrs. Emma Dyck of Elgin, Ill.; and a brother, Omar Rupp of Moundridge.

SELMA MARIE RUPP

Selma Marie Rupp, daughter of Christian W. and Fannie Dirks Rupp, was born on a farm near Moundridge, Kansas on Oct. 31, 1899. She lived in the Moundridge community with her parents most of her life. However, in 1934-35 she served as a cook in the Bethel College dining hall and in 1942 she served as dietician at the C.P.S. Camp at Weeping Water, Neb. After the death of her step-mother she took care of her aged father.

On June 14, 1914, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith by Rev. William Galle in the West Zion Mennonite Church where she was a faithful member throughout her life.

She was in ill health for many years. On Sept. 21 she was admitted to the Mercy Hospital and later submitted to surgery. After rallying for several days she became critically ill and on Sunday evening, Oct. 14, she was relieved by death. She reached the age of 56 years, 11 months and 13 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her aged father; three sisters, Mrs. A. E. Dyck of Moundridge, Mrs. Emma Dyck, Elgin, Ill.; Mrs. John Hirschler, Moundridge, and their families; one brother, Omer and his family of Moundridge, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother; a sister, Mabel; a brother Arlo; and her step-brother.

A memorial service was held in the West Zion Mennonite church on Wednesday, Oct. 17, with Rev. Harris Waltner officiating.
