PHYLLIS JEAN RUDIGER

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church, Greensburg, Kansas, at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, April 13, for Phyllis Jean Rudiger, 21-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy [sic Ray] Rudiger, who was fartally [sic] injured in a tragic accident which occurred at her home near Greensburg on April 10. Her grandfather, Obed Rudiger, was backing a truck in his son’s yard when the little girl, unseen by Mr. Rudiger, dashed out from the house and into the path of the moving vehicle.

Margaret Schmidt sang “Some Day He’ll Make It Plain,” at the short services at the house. At the church services, at which Rev. Hollie Thompson officiated, Rev. Thompson and son David sang three numbers, “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” “No Night There,” and “Gathering Buds.”

Interment was made in the Fairview cemetery.

Phyllis Jean Rudiger was born near Greensburg, June 22, 1946, and departed this life on April 10, 1948, at the age of 1 year, 9 months and 18 days.

She leaves to mourn her going her father and mother; one sister, Marion [sic Marian] Jeanette; one brother, Ronald James, all of Greensburg; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Obed Rudiger of Greensburg and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kruse of Burrton; one greatgrandfahter,[sic great-grandfather] John Becker of Wichita; one great-grandmother, Mrs. Augusta Kruse of Moundridge; also five uncles, aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.
