— Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church in Fall River, Kan. for Carl Willard Roupp, 47, who died of a heart attack Feb. 12 in the Fredonia hospital. Mr. Roupp was a former resident of Newton. He is survived by the widow, Dorothy, three daughters and a son, all of the home in Fall River; his mother, Mrs. Dora Roupp of Fall River; three brothers, Edward of Denver, Colo., Walter of Elkhart, Ind., and Paul of Hesston; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Allison of Concord, Calif. and Mrs. Raymond Ecton of Fall River.

CARL WILLARD ROUPP

Carl Willard Roupp, son of Frank and Dora Roupp, was born at Newton, Kansas on June 14, 1912 and departed this life at St. Margaret's Mercy hospital in Fredonia, Kansas on Feb. 12, 1960 at the age of 47 years, seven months and 29 days. Death came within a few hours after he had suffered a heart attack.

In 1916 the Roupp family moved to Wichita where Carl completed grade school. he attended high school in Hesston, Kansas.

He moved with his family to a farm South of Fall River, Kansas in 1932. In 1942 he entered the United States Coast Guard to serve his country during World War II. On April 18, 1943, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Pierce of Brockton, Mass. To this union were born four children.

Following his discharge from the Coast Guard in 1945, he returned to Fall River to make his home. He became a successful businessman and an active civic worker in the community. For over 14 years he operated the hardware and lumber company known as Consumer Supply. He served as mayor of Fall River for two years and always showed a deep interest in the welfare of the community. He had been a member of the Fall River Men's chorus since it was organized 11 years ago.

In his early youth he became a member of the Mennonite church. Since moving to Fall River he was faithful in attendance and support of the Pilgrim Holiness Church. His father preceded him in death May 13, 1956. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Dorothy, and four children, Bette Ann, Janet Lee, Robert Willard and Pamela Jean, all of the home; his mother, Mrs. Dora Roupp of Fall river; three brothers, Edward of Denver, Colo., Walter, of Elkhart, Ind. and Paul of Hesston, Kansas; two sisters, Alice (Mrs. Ray Allison) of Concord, Calif. and Marianna (Mrs. Raymond Ecton) of Fall River; a large number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and a great host of friends.

Memorial services were conducted in the Fall River Methodist church on Feb. 15, with Rev. Loren Elliott and Mary E. Conyers officiating. Interment was made in the Fredonia cemetery.
