JACOB F. ROUNER

Jacob F. Rouner, son of Eva and Vincent Rouner, was born April 4, 1894, in Newport township in Iowa; passed away March 31, 1952, in Hutchinson, Kansas, aged 57 years, 11 months and 27 days.

He was united in marriage to Emma Mae Reber in 1919, to which union were born a son and daughter. On August 6, 1932, he was united in marriage to Laura Mabel Reber; to this union one daughter was born.

He was the first convert of the Iowa City Mennonite Mission. Later he united with the Mennonite Mission church at Hutchinson, Kansas.

He will always be remembered for his faithfulness and benevolence as a husband and father. His quiet manner and sincere interest in the welfare of others was always appreciated by all who knew him. He gave willingly and untiringly in his daily work, always arriving early lest he not give sufficient time.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his first companion. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, a son Richard Gene and wife Dorothy of Hutchinson; two daughters, Elizabeth Louise and Evelyn Irene of Hesston, Kansas; one grandchild, Ricky; a twin sister, Clara, Mrs. Charles Grissell, two brothers Joseph and Philip, all of Iowa City, Iowa. Many other relatives and friends also mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held April 3 in the Hutchinson Mennonite Mission church with Rev. Roy D. Roth and Rev. S. F. King officiating. Music was provided by a male quartet from Hesston College and Bible School. Interment was made in the Fairlawn Memorial Gardens at Hutchinson, Kansas.
