LIZZIE C. ROTH

Lizzie C. (Gerig) Roth, daughter of Christian R. and Mary (Conrad Gerig, was born near Wayland, Iowa on Aug. 2, 1891; passed away at her home in Lebanon, Oregon on May 23, 1970 at the age of 78 years, nine months and 19 days.

In 1904 she came with her parents to Oregon, locating in the Albany area. After her marriage to Daniel A. Roth on Sept 3, 1916, they moved on a farm near Lebanon. In 1952 they moved to Lebanon. They shared life’s joys and sorrows for almost 54 years. This union was blessed with five sons.

Surviving are her companion and five sons, Lloyd and Wilmer of Lebanon, Glenn and Ivan of Albany, and Orie of Fresno, Calif.; also 18 grandchildren and three brothers, Amos Gerig of Alban; Ben Gerig of Santo Rosa, Calif., and Henry Gerig of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

In 1908 she accepted Christ as her Saviour. She was a faithful and lifelong member of the Fairview Mennonite Church.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, children, and grandchildren because of her concern and love for them.

Funeral services were held at the Fairview Mennonite Church on May 27, 1970. Ernest Garber an Verl Nofziger officiated. Interment was made at the church cemetery.
