Goshen Businessman Farmer Called by Death
Goshen, Ind. — Isaac S. Roth, 63, well-known businessman and farmer here, died unexpectedly Nov. 3 at South Bend Memorial Hospital where he had undergone knee surgery on Oct. 21. Death was attributed to an embolism.
He was a member of the College Mennonite Church, where the funeral was conducted Saturday afternoon by John Mosemann and Robert Detweiler.
Mr. Roth was a grocer here for many years, and for some years owned the Auto Market Food Store on Main street, which was this community's first self-service food store. He was a director of the First National Bank, and the past year was farm loan officer of the bank. He was president of Middlebury Community Schools board of education.
Survivors include his widow, three sons, and his mother, Mrs. Harry Roth of Goshen.
