A service will be held Friday, April 8, at 7:30 p. m. in the Bethel College Mennonite Church in memory of Ruthabel Rickman Rollins, who died Dec. 8, 1982. She grew up in Newton and graduated from Bethel with a music major in 1941. She served for many years on the faculty of Texas Southern University in Houston, and was the director of the Concert Choir there at the time of her death. Members of her choir will be present at the memorial service and will sing under the direction of Rollins' colleague, Ruth Stewart. Hazella Rollins Epps, daughter of Frank and Ruthabel Rollins, will sing several vocal selections.
