MRS. LYDIA ROGGY

Lydia Roggy, daughter of Fredrick and Katie (Habacker [sic Habecker]) Wenger, was born Nov. 25, 1883, in Woodford county Ill. and passed away unexpectedly March 15, 1953, at her home in Meadows, Ill. at the age of 69 years, four months and 20 days.

Oct. 4, 1905, she was united in marriage to Alvin Roggy near Oberlin, Kansas.

Surviving are her husband and two foster sons: Earl Stalter of Middlebury, Ind., John Stalter of Elkhart. Ind. Also surviving are seven foster grandchildren and five brothers: Fred of Seldon, Kansas, Joe of Omaha, Neb., Louis and Alvin of Oberlin, Kansas, and, John of Los Angeles, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her sister, her parents and one foster grandchild.

She confessed Christ as her Saviour early in life, uniting with the Mennonite church, and remained a faithful member through life.

While she was never blessed with any children of her own, she and her husband opened their home to these two brothers who had lost their parents in childhood, bringing them up with the same love and affection as if their own, being as real parents to them.

Funeral services were held at the Waldo Mennonite church, Flanagan, Ill., in charge of J. D. Hartzler assisted by J. E. Stalter and S. J. Miller. Burial was made in Waldo cemetery.
