Businessman, Civic Leader at Geary Dies
Geary, Okla. — Orlando K. Ringleman [sic Ringelman], 82, prominent businessman and civic leader here for many years, died on May 16 in Oklahoma City following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held May 19 at the First Mennonite Church.
Born in 1893 at Halstead, Kan., O. K., as he was most widely known, came to Geary with his parents as a child. Except for a short period of ranching in Idaho, he lived here the rest of his life.
He owned the IGA market here for 35 years. He helped organize the Geary Businessmen's Club, forerunner of the Geary Chamber of Commerce. He was secretary of the Chamber at the time of his death.
He was a former Geary councilman and mayor, and while in these offices was active on the Geary Trust that constructed the town's natural gas system. He was also a charter member of the Elaine County Trust for industrial development. In 1970 he was named Geary's Citizen of the year.
At the time of his death he was senior deacon of the First Mennonite Church, of which his parents were charter members.
Surviving in the immediate family are his widow, the former Orvilla Loganbill, and two sons, Ralph of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and John of Glen Burnie, Md.
