Friends here and at Hesston are deeply saddened because of the death of two well known young men who lost their life through drowning during the past week. Rolin J. Richert, 19, son of Dr. and Mrs.Henry Richert of Newton, drowned Tuesday night, July1 3, at Moberly, Missouri, while Glenn Greaser, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Grewaser of Hesston, drowned Friday evening at Bowie, Md., at the civilian public service camp near there.
Rolin J. Richert was taking advanced training as a flying cadet at Moberly, Mo., and his death occurred there in the lake at Rothwell Park. A life guard tried in vain to save his life; ti also was some time before his body was recovered. His funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Bethel College church, of which he was a member, with Rev. Lester Hostetler, pastor of the church, and Dr. A. Warkentin in charge.
Funeral services for Glenn Greaser were held at the Hesston College chapel on Tuesday afternoon, the body arriving here from Bowie, Md., on Sunday evening. Glenn was a member of the Hesston College church and also attended Hesston College for a number of years.
He is survived by his deeply sorrowing parents, one brother Lawrence also in CPS in camp at Belton, Mont., another brother, Earl, and a sister, Ruby, both at home.
