MARGARET RICHERT

Margaret Richert, the youngest daughter of Jacob F. and Helena Buller Richert, was born on a farm in the Emmental School District near Newton, Kan. on Dec. 19, 1901. When she was about one year old she moved with her parents to Gotebo, Okla. Here she spent her childhood days. In 1914 she moved with her parents to Reedley, Calif., where they settled on a farm.

During the great Erickson revival in Reedley, she was saved and found peace and assurance in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. She rested her faith on the words of the Lord Jesus Christ as they are found in Matthew 11:26, and on May 11, 1919 was baptized and received into the Mennonite Brethren Church.

About 14 years ago she went to Fresno where she accepted a job in the Owl Cleaners as a presser. Her work was greatly appreciated but in January 1961 she had to submit to an operation because of cancer. She had a partial recovery but never became strong enough to go back to work. A few weeks ago she had to return to the hospital for a brief period after which she came to the home of her sister, Mrs. J. P. Suderman. Here she grew steadily worse but during all this time she kept her eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ and had a real hope of seeing Christ in glory.

On May 3, 1962, the Lord called her home to glory. Though we as a family miss her, we rejoice that she could be relieved from her suffering. She reached the age of 60 years, four months and 14 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure five sisters, Lena, Mrs. A. A. Beier, Anna Richert, Mary, Mrs. J. P. Suderman, Martha, Mrs. Bern. Berg, and Eva Richert, all of Reedley; two brothers, Jacob J. Richert of Fresno and Peter J. Richert, Reedley; also two brothers-in-law, four nieces, and many other relatives and friends.

The memorial service was held in the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Dan. Friesen and Rev. Harold Gaede officiating. — The Family.
