Lydia Eicher Rich, wife of Frank G. Rich, was born near Noble, Oowa [sic Iowa], January 19, 1879 and died at her home northwest of Wayland after a lingering illness on August 16, 1924 aged 45 years, 6 months and 27 days.
In her early life she professed faith in Jesus Christ as her Saviour and was received into the Eicher Mennonite church at Noble where she remained a valued member until her death.
She was united in marriage to Frank G. Rich on January 10, 1900 and for more than twenty-four years they lived a happy married life together.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and ten children all living at home. They are Edwin, Mabel, Verda, Irvin, Orville, Vivian, Irene, Florence, Glenn and Evelyn.
There are also three sisters and one brother. Anna, wife of Wm. Boshart of Wayland, Mabel, wife of Arnold Rinner and Elizabeth, wife of L. H. Rinner of near Noble, and Ed F. Eicher of Newton, Kansas, with a host of friends and relatives.
Mrs. Rich was a kind and affectionate mother, always thinking of the comfort of others rather than herself. This loving disposition won for her many friends, young and old, who always found a warm welcome in her home.
During all her sickness she was remarkable patient and submissive. Her christian life and character will always remain as a heritage to all who knew her.
