text of obituary:
H. E. Miller. Sie ruhe in Frieden!

VERENA MARY REUSSER
Verena Mary Reusser was born in Simpson, Saskatchewan, Canada, on May 17, 1914, and departed from this life June 12, 1944, at the age of 30 years and 26 days.
She was the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Reusser, and leaves to mourn her parents, three brothers, two sisters-in-law, three nieces and one nephew — also a number of relatives and friends.
Verena grew to young womanhood in Canada; having lived there all but two years, which were spent in Colorado. In 1938 she moved with her parents to Pond Creek, Oklahoma, and later came to live on a farm near Deer Creek where she passed away suddenly, but peacefully without prolonged suffering.
Having been of frail health from infancy, and her health failing gradually the last two years, Verena was denied some of the privileges in this life. On the other hand she was privileged to grow upon a home where she was given the tenderest care by loving hands.
Among the things which gave her joy was privilege of going to church with the family whenever possible. She enjoyed this privilege one day before going Home.
Her quiet presence is missed in the home, but a loving memory is cherished in the hearts of the bereaved.
By Rev. Ralph A. Brown, Eldorado, Ill.
There is recompense for sorrow;
There is balm for hearts that ache;
There is hope for every morrow,
When the way of Christ we take.
There is peace in midst of turmoil;
There is joy when eyes are dime [sic];
There is perfect understanding,
When we leave it all with Him.
There is love that passeth knowledge;
There is faith to light the way;
There is all we need in Jesus,
When on Him , our trust we stay.
Funeral services were held on Wed., June 14. After a short service at the home conducted by Rev. H. E. Miller, further services were held from the Deer Creek Mennonite church at two P. M. A girls' sextet furnished special music, after which Rev. Miller spoke words of comfort to the bereaved family and friends.
Interment was made in the Bayard cemetery, near Deer Creek.
