OTTO N. REUSSER

Otto N. Reusser was born to Abraham and Verena Welty Reusser near Moundridge, Kan. on Nov. 25, 1888. His mother died when he was 13 years of age. He attended the public schools and graduated in 1905. He was baptized into the Mennonite Church of Christian on Jan. 18, 1905. Since 1936, he has been a faithful member of the Deer Creek Mennonite Church, Deer Creek, Okla.

On Aug. 2, 1911 Otto Reusser and Selma Krehbiel were united in marriage. To this union were born three sons and three daughters. During the early years of their marriage they were engaged in farming in the Moundridge community and in Colorado. For 12 years the Reussers farmed in Saskatchewan, and in 1930 they moved to Deer Creek, Okla., where he operated a grain elevator and farmed. He and his wife have since resided here, except for four years spent in Newton, Kan., serving their church in the work of the Prairie View Hospital.

Otto's deep convictions have been an inspiration to his family and friends. He has served his family, church, and community with a selflessness rooted in his trust in God.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers. Upon joining his Maker on June 12, 1961, he leaves his wife, Selma of the home, three sons, Edward of El Reno, Okla., Robert of Bartlesville, and Eugene of Deer Creek; three daughters, Mrs. I. J. Dester of Buhler, Kan., Mrs. Harold Kuehny of Deer Creek, and Mrs. Melvin Krehbiel of Columbus, Neb.; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Goebel of Moundridge, Kan.; a brother, David Reusser of Wellington, Kan.; 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
