Mrs. Mary (Nafziger) Resser, wife of Jacob Resser, was born at Archbold, Ohio, March 29, 1869. She died at her home at Albany, Oregon, Dec. 5, 1932, at the age of 63 years, 8 months, and 15 days. She accepted Christ as her Savior when a young woman and united with the Mennonite church of which she remained a faithful member to the end.
She was united in marriage with Jacob Resser in August 1889. To this union were born eleven children, eight sons, and three daughters. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband and all of her children as follows: Simon and Dewey of Van Nuys, Calif., William, Jessie, Edwin, Cecil, Walter, Ray, Mrs. Lerna Erb, Mrs. Jane Erb, and Mrs. Marie Widmer all of Albany. Also 23 grandchildren and five brothers, Dan, Jacob and Jonathan of Ohio, John of Nampa, Idaho, and Christ Nafziger of Albany, Ore. Three sisters, Mrs. Anna Grieser and Mrs. Leah Yedica of Ohio and Mrs. Katie Yoder of Pomona, Calif., also many other relatives and friends.
She was in failing health for several months. Because of her quiet disposition she bore her suffering patiently and cheerfully, which was characteristic of her life.
Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at her late home and at the Grace Mennonite church, conducted by her pastor Rev. W. Harley King, who used Phil. 1;21-23 as a text, assisted by Rev. N. A. Lind.
Rest on, dear Mother your labor is o’er,
Your willing hands will toil no more,
A faithful Mother, ture and kind,
No friend on earth like you we’ll find.
