Colorado Boy Killed In Highway Accident

Julesburg, Colo. — Nine-year-old Troy Renquist, son of Rod and Joan (Mast) Renquist of rural Julesburg, was instantly killed in a highway accident at the I-80 Interchange two miles south of here the evening of July 14.

The lad was riding in a pickup truck driven by his father when a motorist pulled in front of them while attempting to enter the interstate highway. Troy was thrown from the truck. His father suffered minor injuries and was released after an overnight stay in the Julesburg hospital.

Troy was a member of the Julesburg Mennonite Sunday School and took part in the Sunday evening services on occasion. An overflow crowd attended the funeral service on July 17 in the Julesburg Church of Christ. Pastor Arthur Roth of the Mennonite church was in charge and gave the message. He was assisted in the service by Pastor Rex Bell of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
