Death Claims Retired Minister, Teacher

Steinbeck, Man. — Funeral services were conducted at the Grace Mennonite Church here for Rev. Gerhard S. Rempel, 73, who served as the first pastor of this congregation from 1961 to 1966. He died April 9 after an extended illness.

A native of this district, he taught school in Saskatchewan for 25 years, and then returned here to become pastor of the E. M. B. Church. He served in that capacity for 14 years before accepting a call to serve the new Grace church.
