Kidney Ailment Claims Life of Teacher

Meade, Kan. — Eldon F. Rempel, 32, well-known music teacher and a native of this community, died Sunday at Trinity Hospital in Dodge City.

Funeral services are to be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, at the Emanuel Mennonite Church, of which he was a member.

A graduate of Tabor College, Mr. Rempel formerly taught in the junior high school here. During the current school year he taught music at Macksville, Kan. until forced to discontinue for health reasons.

He had been a patient at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, where he was treated for a kidney ailment. For some months he had been on a kidney machine, and it was hoped that a transplant could be performed.

Surviving are his widow, the former Alvera Classen, and children Douglas and Karen of the home; his mother, Mrs. George J. Rempel of Meade; five brothers and five sisters.
