BERNHARD W. REMPEL
Bernhard W. (Ben) Rempel died July 14. He was born Sept. 16, 1916 to Wilhelm and Margaretha Rempel in Gruenfeld, Russa. At 6, he immigrated with his family to Canada. At 12, Ben accepted Christ as Saviour. In 1943, he married Anna Penner. Ben was actively involved in the Domain (Man.) MB Church, where he taught Sunday school and sang in the male chorus. He loved farming, and remained optimistic and thankful during all his years as a farmer in Osborne, Man. In 1984, he retired and moved to Winnipeg, where he made new friends and encouraged international students. Ben was blessed with many friends throughout his life, thanks to his generous and outgoing nature. Many of these friendships continue through the third generation of family members. Predeceased by daughter Barbara Anna; 4 brothers; 5 sisters; Ben in mourned by Anna; daughters Margaret (Art) Koop and Carla (Rod) Muller; son Paul (Ruth);8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren The funeral service was July 18 at Portage Ave. MB Church, Winnipeg.
