LONG-TIME MEMBER OF KITCHENER M. B. CHURCH CALLED AWAY IN DEATH
Kitchener, Ont. — John G. Rempel, 78, of Kitchener passed away on Sunday, May 26, after an illness of two months.
He was one of the first Mennonites who came to this part of Ontario in 1924 to settle in Kitchener. He also was one of the charter members who organized church services among the new Canadians and assisted in the formation of the Mennonite Brethren congregation in Kitchener. He held various offices in the church including that of deacon for 25 years.
In 1901 he married Justina Riediger. In addition to the widow there are surviving one daughter, Susan Peters of Royal Oak, Mich., and three sons, John I. of Toronto, Peter J. of Kitchener and Cornelius J. of Kitchener.
