text of obituary:

EDWARD REMPEL

Edward C. Rempel was born November 20, 1924, at Meade, Kansas and passed away to be with the Lord on May 12, 1951. He reached the age of 26 years, five months, and 22 days.

He accepted the Lord as his personal Saviour and on confession of faith was baptized August 6, 1944, by Rev. Orlando Wiebe and received into the E.M.B. church at Meade, of which he remained a faithful member to his death.

On September 30, 1949, he was united in marriage with Irene Nickel, and we lived together one year, seven months, and twelve days, sharing joys and sorrows.

Ed became ill about 12 months ago of internal cancer and suffered much, especially the last five months. He always had wonderful joy in the Lord. He did not complain. During the last few days he expressed the desire to go Home.

Though all his suffering we both learned to love the Lord much more. God gave me grace so I could say, “Yes, I let go,” and he thanked me for it. He said he hoped to see me soon because Christ was coming soon.

Surviving him are his wife, Irene; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Rempel; three brothers, Daniel C., John C., and Henry C., and their families, all of Meade, Kansas; one sister, Anna, Mrs. Edward W. Regier and family, Ingalls, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Nickel, Irene’s parents and family, Oakley, Kansas; Mrs. Ben Nickel, Irene’s grandmother, Goessel, Ks.; Mr. and Mrs. Peter F. Rempel, grandparents; a number of uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of friends who mourn his too early departure.

We mourn our loss with the assurance to see him again on the great resurrection morning. — Mrs. Irene Rempel.
