MRS. DIETRICH REMPEL

Delora Ann Rempel was born on January 4, 1925, in the home of her parents in Mountain Lake, Minn. In infancy and youth , she had a close playmate and companion in her twin sister, Eldora. She attended the local public and high schools and found employment in the community. By nature she seemed to be happy and carefree.

She sensed her need of a Saviour in the 13th year of her life, and professed salvation through faith in Christ. Rev. D. A. Regier baptized and received her into the fellowship of the E.M.B. church on September 11, 1938.

On August 15, 1947, Delora and Dietrich Rempel exchanged marriage vows at a lawn wedding with Rev. Victor Graber officiating. The scene of the wedding was at the home of her parents.

Douglas James was born to them on octrober 25 of the following year.

Delora was admitted to the Bethel hospital on Sunday, Christmas Day, at 8:00 p.m. after enjoying the Christmas family reunion at her parental homes. On Tuesday, Dec. 27, 6:00 a. m. she gave birth to a baby girl which did not live after which serious complications set in, that were the cause of her unexpected death at half-past two in the afternoon.

At one point she made a remark to her mother to this effect "Mother I know now I am saved, and I am ready to go."

Her father arrived at the bedside on time for her to say goodby to him for this life, as she had done to other members present, and assured him that she was going to be with Jesus her Saviour. Shortly before she went on she prayed briefly, "Lord, take me home." She reached the age of 24 years, eleven months, and 23 days.

Left to mourn her too hasty and unexpected death are Douglas James and her husband Dietrich; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rempel; a brother, Lawrence and his wife Alvera, who are missionaries in Africa; two sisters, Eldora and Jane; a grandmother, Mrs. John J. Dick; parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Peter P. Rempel; five sisters-in-law, Mrs. Henry B. Peters, Mrs. Roy Thompson, Mrs. Henry Fast, Delft, and Sarah and Elizabeth at home; four brothers-in-law, Peter at home, Cornelius at Sacramento, Calif., John at Darfur and Henry of Los Angeles, Calif.; more distant relatives and a host of friends.

It is a comfort to all of us to know that Delora Ann is safe in the Arms of Jesus.
