Wilbert V. Reimer

Wilbert V. Reimer, 81, of North Newton, died Sunday (Aug. 13, 2000) at Newton Medical Center.

He was born June 5, 1919, in Marion County to David U. and Carolina (Voth) Reimer. He married Rubie A. Unruh April 30, 1942. She survives of North Newton.

He was a member of Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton, North Newton City Council, Harvey County Planning Commission, E. G. Stepper square dance club, Golden Circle Camping Club and Lions Club.

Other survivors include: one son, James Reimer of Overland Park; one daughter, Betty Wyckoff of Overland Park; one brother, Richard Reimer of Smithville, Ohio; one sister, Evelyn Buller of North Newton; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be 9 a. m. Thursday at Restlawn Gardens of Memory in rural Newton. Funeral services will be 11 a. m. Thursday at Bethel College Mennonite Church with Pastors Heidi Regier Kreider and Steve Yoder officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p. m. Tuesday and 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Wednesday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p. m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established with Bethel College Mennonite Church, Bethel College Scholarship Fund and Mennonite Central Committee in care of the funeral home.
